Abstract

Tahira Igbal is counted among the Prominent Fiction writers of the present era. She is a well-known name of Urdu Fiction and novel.The basic theme of her writings is the rural life of Punjab, especially the problems of farmers, women and nomadic women, Agrarian bound in feudal systems. She has truly depicted the day-to-day life of the agricultural Society and the lower classes.

Realism is a prominent feature of her writings. She has used a unique style to portray rural life and has played an important role in making local dialects a part of the urdu language.

Her novel "Neeli Bar" is considered an important milestone in the context of portraying Urdu literary and rural Social life. In it, the author has used words, idioms and accents alongside Urdu, which highlights the local brightness and cultural identity of the language.
