"Unraveling Identity Crises: A Critical Analysis of 'Fight Club' Through Erikson Lens"

Abstract

Using Erikson Theory as the theoretical basis, this study examines identity crises in the novel “Fight Club”. The study aims to unravel the complicated layers of identity problems that are depicted in the story. This study’s contribution to our understanding of the wider effects of identity problems in modern society is what makes it significant. By analyzing the experiences of the protagonists in “Fight Club,” theoretical understandings derived from Erikson  phases of development is applied, illuminating the wider societal significance of the identity crises. The findings of this research. The key findings of this research study are likely to be an in-depth analysis of the identity crises experienced by the protagonists in the novel “Fight Club” through the lens of Erik Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development, and an exploration of how the application of this theoretical framework can illuminate the deeper psychological and social significance of the identity problems portrayed in the novel and their wider implications for understanding identity-related challenges in contemporary society.
